According to the tale, St. Columba heard of a monster in the lake that had killed a man. He went to defeat the monster taking one of his follower who was sent into the loch’s water as bait. When the beast came out the monk ordered him away and the beast fled away in terror. This beast is universally known as the Loch Ness Monster.loch-ness-monster-600x400-8346942The first man to claim of seeing a monster was George Spicer in 1933 and he described it as a gigantic creature resembling a dragon in appearance. Since then many people have claimed to see a monster in the loch’s water. There has been no real proof of the monster’s existence and the scientists believe that the sightings are a result of mere wishful thinking. People see what they want to see.
