The river has 32 bridges, some of them being a real masterpiece. Pont Neuf, inaugurated in 1607, is the oldest bridge in Paris. The construction of this bridge was initiated by Henry 3d and it was the first bridge which was not built of wood. The bridge was long the best entertainment place in the city and nowadays it still remains in the top of must-see list.

Pont Alexander, the most ornate bridge of Paris, was designed by Gustav Eiffel. The bridge was built as a symbol of alliance of French and Russians and it is named after Russian Tsar Alexander 3d. The bridge, decorated with lampposts and sculptures of nymphs and cherubs is a real architectural gem.

Pont des Arts was the first metal bridge in Paris. It is an ideal location for picnics, so you can see many people there especially during summertime. The bridge is also known as a ‘love lock bridge’ as people used to clip locks to the bridge and throw the key to the river in order their love to last forever. In spite of the fact that the locks were removed not to cause the bridge wires break, the bridge still stays one of the most favorites among tourists.
